Harvesting Our Ranches

Lassen Canyon Nursery harvests about 900 acres of hay each year. The ranches are located in Redding and Weed (the Shastina Ranch), California. We have grass, wheat, oat, and alfalfa hay. We are harvesting all summer since we get several cuttings from the alfalfa hay. The hay is suitable for all livestock including horses. From our early beginnings in the 1950’s to where we are today, Lassen Canyon Nursery has grown to become one of the largest family strawberry farms. We are now on the 3rd generation of Elwood’s who all move up the ranks the “old fashioned” way, just like the previous generations did.

Our focus at Lassen Canyon Nursery, Inc. is to provide a high standard of quality strawberry plants, in our over 1200 acres.
