Heavy Rain This Year
So far 2016 has been a wet year for us here in Northern California. It was a little challenging during our Low Elevation plant harvest down in Manteca, CA but we worked through it. We are not complaining about all this rain because our state needs it to fill up the reservoirs.
In January we had a couple of days with heavy rainfall. As you can see from the photos below our Redding, CA. headquarters was pretty soaked. All of this water is very helpful but the snow pack on our mountain ranges is most important to help our drought situation in the state. In 2015 Shasta Lake experiences record low water levels during the hot summer months. Right now according to KRCR news Channel 7 the lake was recently under 100 feet from the crest, still pretty low but we are on the rise. Here are a few articles that we found interesting concerning the El Nino and Drought we have going on in our area.
