The 48th Annual Inter-Mountain Fair Junior Livestock Auction was held Monday, September 7 in McArthur, CA.  Lassen Canyon Nursery, Inc. has been a proud supporter of the auction for over 40 years.  This year we were happy to buy two hogs, a beef and a lamb.  We  purchased a hog produced by Evan Robbins, an independent exhibitor and a hog from Jedediah Pendleton, a member of the Pine Grove 4-H club.  By teaming up with the Shasta County Farm Bureau we also purchased a hog from Mercedes Lane, a member of the Burney 4-H club.

We  also were the high bidder on McArthur FFA member Kaytlynn Howden’s 1230 pound angus steer.  But probably the proudest purchase of the day came when we bought Marisol Ramirez’s lamb.  Marisol is the daughter of Ramon Ramirez.  Ramon manages Lassen Canyon Nursery’s ranch in McArthur and we were delighted to support her independent lamb project.  Ramon’s other daughters Marlene and Nanci also sold lambs which were snapped up by other generous intermountain businesses.
